The Good Old Days
Comments:
AMIR, male, 19

First of all I should say that the most useful exercise I did in general language course was blogging, I knew a weblog is something related directly to the observer and I was ambitious to have lots of fans but there were many other students more powerful than me so I thought the only way to have others attention is making challenge. I chose my nickname ****Main Pain**** which sounds nice and started my comments by protesting and nagging, soon every blogger became aware of Main Pain and it was the time for me to continue in a normal way.
Of course I had many mistakes during my blogging but I love blogging I want to continue it in future even it doesn’t have any marks. Blogging is a nice time to share ideas with others and respect others’ ideas and of course be tolerant of critics something I wasn’t at first but by the time I learnt from others.
I think the way we blogged was exactly according to our Iranian culture, using Persian words is an evidence and also many times we discussed about our society.
Those days I spent long times reading others’ comments and commenting on some of them. If I didn’t have enough time or I wasn’t ok enough! I read some certain comments like NATSHIL’s comments because I liked the way they write and also I was very sensitive of my own comments, some times I came back to read my ex-comments in order not to repeat my mistakes again.
At last I want to say blogging was a nice idea for TEfU but it would be better if we had more supervise and our teacher told us the mistakes.
As a conclusion I want all of my cyber friends to excuse me if I wasn’t nice in cyberdiscovery and I want thank them for tolerating me.

Vahid Ownagh /ESP1:
1. As a class activity it is not interesting but when I am volunteer to blogging it is with enjoy.
2. Of course teacher recommended things are the main. But I am interested in Economical issues to discuss about.
7. Most of Iranian bloggers are professional in this field and they use different aspects of creativity.
10. Yes I would like to see it but in well organization and with more specific purposes.

17. Combination of thinking and language is the main supporting role of blogging besides of English classes.
18. Actually this kind of bloggings can be more effective because of dealing with specially with native English people and more important factor is coming know to how other people in other countries think and judge about interesting topics.
19. It depends on topics that I blog about that and also on my audiences. for example if I am discussing about my own interesting areas I prefer to publish them with my name.
20.Again it is related to blogging topic, if it is interesting for me application of this factors can be in extreme level.
24.I believe its effectiveness is related to development of general skills in writing especially the ability to convert ideas from neural networks to paper.

1. There are many ways to improve your English knowledge. You wanted to use a method which is the best and newest one! and I think Blogging is one of them.

2. Many of my blogs were about our class news in the week. But I tried to include other things such as my daily life.

3. I read many of the blogs, although there were many! I knew many of the bloggers, so I was interested to know what they've said.

4. I is a very good way, but it depends on the student. He/she can take as much benefits as he/she wants! If he wants, he can improve his reading, thinking, and grammar.

5. I think the main reason is that blogging is free world! you have the freedom to write anything you want, and others are free to comment! but another reason, I think, is that you don't need to be in direct contact with your audience.

6. No! Blogging is an art. A new art. For being known as a good blogger you should be creative!

7. I haven't done this yet! Actually, I haven't thought about it! but it is great, if foriegners read our blogs.

8. Yes, it did. I could learn many things from it, but I didn't. But I did learn so much though!

9. I don't know! It depends on the situation!

10. I think this much is enough! because using it wider will not benefit anymore!

11. There are completely different things! Our purpose in these two are different. In chatting, you don't want to learn anything, but you do in blogging.

12. Before, I tought it's completely useless and I won't participate! But after some times of blogging, I found out how interesting it is!

13. Sometimes I do this to see how much my English has improved! It's exciting

14. I read the comments more than writing. There is a huge amount of comments that you can read and enjoy!

15. Freedom! what I said before.

16. You should know many words, grammar and many language skills. But the most important one is not related to language. It is the ability to hear other's comments and to judge it!

17.
18. In this situation, I will read my blog many times, and I will correct the mistakes, because it is not reasonable to have grammar mistakes in an English blog!

19. I like others to know what are my opinions! I don't mind others to know my name and what I've said!

20. You must first read the article, then read others' comments carefully, then think about it deeply and then write about it. between these parts, you can discuss with others!

21. I want to know others' opinions
about things and to know new people.

22. Blogging is a revolution! You can't limit it just to learning English! you can use it even to teach University's courses!

23. At first, I was afraid to know other's thoughts. But after a while, I learned how to interact with others and with their Opinions!

24. I learned many words from bloggins, and more useful than that, I learned how to use the words I know to express myself!

25. If I just write and don't think about other's feedbacks, it won't be so useful! With the comments you recieve from others, you can learn more than a class!

26. really, blogging didn't help me in this aspect! Except I learned not to fight with others because of what they think!

27. The most interesting aspect was that there is no control on you! There is no teacher to tell you what to say! (With respect to our teachers!)

28. I have access all the time, but if you mean how much do I use it, my answer is about 1 to 2 hours a day!

29. Because I had internet access when it just arrived in Iran, I think I am skillful in using it!

30. In our classes, having some mistakes is not bad. but in foreign ones, it is not forgiven! In our blogs, we talked mostly about English, but there are many other topics to talk about in Foreign Blogs!

thanks,
Master Of Puppets

1.blogging is one of the best ways for improving english.so it can beuseful.
2.I have written about so many things.but I think that most of them are related to the topics that we have discussed in the class
3.Of corse I read other students blogs.I think it is interesting to know other ideas and it can help us
to make decesions better.
4.getting benefit from different metods depends on students.if students want and try hard they will benefit.so if they dont pay attention as much as they should
they wont conclude or benefit.
5.because they can write anything they want so it is a free place.
as I said above reading other ideas is interesting too.
6.blogging is an art and it is so close to writing.so for being a good blogger you shoud be creative too.
7.I am iranian so I unconciously represent iranian culture and iranian thoughts in my blogs.
8.yes it can.but I have not worked so much on it.
9.I am not sure.but I think that I will do because it has some benefits.
10.not more widely.there are some limitations for using this method.
so now its enough.
11.of corse there are so many differences between chatting and blogging.for example the purposes behinde chatting and blogging are so different.
12.naw I feel more positively about blogging.first- I mean before blogging-I thought it is really useless but now I think it is almost useful and has some benefits.
13.not usually but I think it is exciting and we can review what we have done.

21.intresting ideas, new ideas, and even ability to face opponent ideas.
24.as i mentioned it is the #1 use of the concept.

1-I think it is clear now, at the end of second term, passed 6 units of English, watched & participated in many class discussions about benefits of writing blogs.
3-Yes. At first, I read others` blog by random. But after a while, when I got more familiar to my classmates` style, I often chose the special blogs by their writers. Nothing is more interesting of being aware of your friends` ideas. It helps you to think better and extend your mind.
4- They learn to declare their opinions and receive others` opinions. They defend their ideas and those who are shied of speaking in a group can show their thoughts.
5- It is an easy way of communicating. You can think about what you want to say, evaluate it and then say and you may get quiet if you have nothing to say!
6- Iranians will permanently be famous for their art/creativity. But not only for that. In few next years, we will be famous of all our powers. Blogging is a tiny way of that. I think it can show our powers as much as an international scientific magazine can.
7- In an international blog, I often think generally, not let bases of my nature interfere with the case. But when I find a solution of my nationality I use it by emphasize on its Iranian view.
8- Yes. I never had thought about such a thing in English and now I know myself at a higher status then before. It is so surprising for me and encourages me to practice and be better every day.
9- Yes, but based on the subject. I follow whatever attracts my mind.
10- Yes. It is a useful way of teaching English but I can't realize why the time interrupts it!
11- No difference, maybe. But blog gives you more time, condition of thinking free, and choose the best sentences can express your idea with no misunderstanding.
12- My sense about blogging in cyber discovery is different with blogging generally. I never had a bad feeling of blogging. It excites me and makes me use my slept mind. It gives me topics to think, and ways of thinking.
13- No for Medicine faculty of Tehran University. Yes In a not depended situation, when I'm sure I'm learning English, not passing it.
14- No. I read long and short posts. Although I may lose some important parts but I tried to scan long posts.
16- It is important but not as much as starting. We most start even we have no skill of blogging. Those will be gotten in procedure of blogging and the self attempts make it fast.
17- To learn English, you should think in English. Although you may think in your natural language when you are blogging in your mind, but you have to think in English when you want to describe them for your friends.
18- No special feelings. When I blog, I forget my audiences. I only attend to myself and what I want to say.
19- When I read an article, I never care of its writers. Only at last I read his name. If I knew him, this article would place in folder of that writer in my mind and if not, a new folder will be made. Interactively, I never care of using my real name in a blog.
20- I don't know. Maybe I make a big building of thoughts for a topic, with no or less value for others. Or maybe I don't care of a topic that everybody are involved in its excitement.
21- Only a sense that say to me at last "You didn't waste your time on doing this blogging."
22- It needs some changes. You should increase the attractiveness of subject. Why students can't choose their topics? But generally it is excellent to develop the skills of students in English.
23- I wish I could give the real answer to this question!
24- My writing (and in regard to it, my typing, because of the less time) surprisingly improved. I don't know how or why. Someday I was boring of writing English. But now I easily write what I want, most of the time not using a dictionary.
25v26- Certainly it is helpful. To be master of everything, you should involve it. This is exactly like that. Teach you what you need without telling you the details of education.
27- Declaring and defending of my own idea. I don't know how much it is effective in teaching English but surely has a positive role in attract students` attention.
28- Now, all day and night long. But 1 month ago, when I lived in kooy I was one of the 1000 people who wanted to access internet from 17:00 to 3:00.
29- I'm sure I'm able to perform my necessities in internet.
30- No any special difference. I tried to show my thoughts in the best way, both in class blog and foreign weblogs. I didn't feel any difference. To some extent, maybe I used dictionary more than what I used before.

Saeed khaheshi:esp1:male:2nd
1-it`s clear that blogging is a good way to improve in English because by This method we can improve both our reading& writing
2-during last term I mainly blogged about the weekly topics which had been Being chosen by our teachers.but I tried to put my own interesting things &Some other things which I thought are useful or interesting in my comments
3-ohhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!of course :D it was the most interesting part of our Blogging. I was interested in Beatrice’s writing but tried to read all off the Comments during the week
4-I think it has lots of advantages and some problems.for example I think It`s a good way for practicing how we can express ourselves in English But it`s hard for some of our friends who live in (KHABGAH!!!!)to access The internet
5-be caused in this way we can be aware others` opinions and of course In our class it was so interesting to know what was our friends opinion About different topics
6-no.I didn’t understand what you mean from this question.I can’t find any Antilogy between art & blogging!!!!!(perhaps I’m too stupid to understand it:D:D:D)
7-I think my blog shows my ordinary way of thinking and some aspects of My life, and of course it has some signs of being Iranian!
8-yessssssssssssssssssss,it was really helpful
9-if I have enough time I will take part in similar weblogs ;)
10-no!be cause although it has many benefits but it takes lots of time
11-chatting is quite different from blogging.in blogging the participant Usually has an aim from blogging contrary to chatting!:D:D:D
12-before:-? After :D(cyber discovery was the first opportunity for Me to take part in a weblog and it was a good experience for me)
12+1-no
14-it was so0o0o0oo interesting
15-I think the most important thing was learning to express our ideas.
16- of course for English-blogging being a good English writer & speaker
And having enough bravery to express our ideas are the most important things
18!!!!!-well!!!:-? Then I will try to be more careful of what I’m saying:D
19-yes
20-to a great extent!
21-others’ opinion about a topic & about what I think about this topic
22-of course it can be useful in any field of study not only languages
23- as I have mentioned it was so important & interesting for me to know
What is other’s opinion about my comments !perhaps they can persuade
Me to change my idea!!!!(however,I think it’s impossible or too hard:D:D:D)
24-it can be so useful for improving our english-writing
25-It was helpful to some extent because we could know what were the problems
Of our writing(the way we are used to write)
26-I think it’s clear that others’feedbacks we helpful in this field
27-having a free space to propound our ideas
28-99.99%!!
29-somewhat!
30-I haven’t experienced other foreign weblogs(sorry:D)
